I read in the news today that an 8-year-old boy shot himself to death in the US.  This isn't surprising, considering that in the US, kids stumble upon their daddies' guns and accidentally shoot themselves all the time (they also deliberately shoot other people all time too, but that's another story ( Read more... )

I've been busy this past week (or weeks) so haven't had time to write about this.

Well, if people complained that the plot of Hero, Flying Daggers, etc. was too incredulous for belief, The Promise certainly beats them all.  All that talk about men and gods living on earth was just a convenient excuse to conjure up the fantastic fairytale that made absolutely no sense ( Read more... )

Tonight C and I went to the Esplanade again, to catch the world-famous Vienna Boys Choir for their one-night-only performance.  This was all the more poignant, especially after missing the chance to listen to them at their homebase of the Wien Hofburg in July.
